Formulated with SHOFU’s patented HY-Agent additive (tannin-fluoride), HY-Bond Polycarboxylate Cement is designed for the reliable cementation of cast restorations and orthodontic appliances. The HY-Agent enhances compressive strength while reducing post-operative sensitivity.

Precautions

1. Do not use in patients with known allergies to this product or to polycarboxylate cement.
2. Operators with known hypersensitivity to this product must not handle it.
3. If inflammation or allergic reactions occur in the patient or operator, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention.
4. Avoid contact of the liquid or mixed cement with intraoral soft tissues, skin, or eyes.

• If contact occurs:
• Soft tissue/skin: Blot with alcohol-moistened cotton and rinse thoroughly with water.
• Eyes: Rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical assistance

Shofu Hy - Bond Polycarboxylate Cement Mini Set: 

• 1 x 60 g Powder
• 1 x 40gm Liquid

Step 1: Dispensing Powder and Liquid

1.1 For Cementation

• Standard Powder/Liquid Ratio: 2.2 g : 1.0 g
• Using the provided measuring scoop, dispense one level scoop of powder and three drops of liquid separately.

1.2 For Lining

• Standard Powder/Liquid Ratio: 3.2 g : 1.0 g
• Using the provided measuring scoop, dispense one level scoop of powder and two drops of liquid separately.

Step 2: Mixing

• Place the measured powder and liquid on a mixing pad or glass slab.
• Divide the powder into two equal parts.
• Add the first half to the liquid and mix for 15–20 seconds using a spatula.
• Incorporate the remaining powder and continue mixing until a smooth, homogeneous paste is achieved.

Step 3: Cementation

• Clean and dry the surfaces of both the restoration and the prepared tooth.
• Apply the mixed cement using the conventional cementation technique.

Step 4: Lining

• Carry out the lining procedure according to standard clinical techniques.
