FX ULTRA is an advanced self-adhesive, bulk-fill glass ionomer restorative engineered to exceed the performance of conventional GICs in everyday practice. Its innovative powder–liquid formulation features high initial reactivity and rapid maturation, aligning the refractive indices of the glass core and matrix to produce exceptional translucency and aesthetics immediately after placement.

The material forms a strong chemical bond to enamel and dentin—no additional conditioning required—ensuring reliable adhesion and an excellent marginal seal that minimizes microleakage. Clinical Procedure

• Tooth Surface Cleaning
• Thoroughly clean the tooth surface to remove all plaque, debris, and surface stains.
• Shade Selection
• Choose the most suitable shade to match the patient’s natural dentition.
• Cavity Preparation
• Prepare the cavity according to standard restorative techniques.
• Isolation
• Isolate the working area with a rubber dam or another effective moisture-control method.
• Pulp Protection
• In cases of pulp exposure or deep cavities near the pulp, apply a calcium hydroxide liner or an equivalent protective material.
• Dispensing Powder and Liquid
• Measure 1 scoop of powder and 1 drop of liquid using the provided scoop and dropper bottle.
• Maintain a standard powder-to-liquid ratio of 2.7 g : 1.0 g.
• Shake the powder bottle before use and ensure the liquid is bubble-free.
• Mixing
• Divide the powder into two portions and gradually incorporate it into the liquid.
• Mix for 30–45 seconds until a smooth, uniform consistency is achieved.
• Do not add extra liquid, as this may alter the material’s properties.
• Filling and Moisture Control
• Rinse and gently dry the prepared cavity.
• Place the mixed material directly into the cavity and contour as required.
• Protect the restoration from moisture during the initial setting phase to avoid surface discoloration.
• Contouring and Polishing
• After approximately 6 minutes, contour and polish the restoration to achieve the final finish and anatomy.
