1. Prepare a conservative access to the cavity.
2. Rinse and dry the carious dentin thoroughly.
3. Dispense 1–2 drops of Explore into a dappen dish.
4. Apply the solution to the cavity using a brush or cotton pellet.
5. Allow it to sit for approximately 10 seconds, then rinse thoroughly with a water spray.
6. Remove the red-stained, infected dentin.
7. Repeat the application as needed until no further staining is observed, indicating complete removal of carious dentin.

Caution:

Use a low-speed rotary instrument when removing carious dentin. High-speed instruments may generate frictional heat, potentially causing discomfort before all stained dentin is adequately removed.
