Prevest Zinconol is a heavy-duty, polymer-reinforced zinc oxide eugenol material specifically designed for intermediate temporary restorations and base lining under non-resin restorative materials. Incorporating specialized polymer reinforcing agents into the zinc oxide powder matrix dramatically enhances its physical and mechanical properties beyond conventional ZOE formulations.
This intermediate restorative material serves as an ideal pulp-protective base under amalgam, silicate, and inlay restorations. Its therapeutic eugenol release offers exceptional palliative action on hyperemic or exposed dental pulp, making it a reliable solution in emergency treatments and multi-appointment restorative procedures.
The product is supplied as a powder and liquid system, offering a powder jar of 15 g and a liquid bottle of 10 ml complete with a dedicated mixing pad and measuring scoop. 1. Clean and thoroughly dry the prepared cavity prior to cement application.
2. Dispense 1 scoop of powder and 2-3 drops of liquid onto a clean glass slab or oil-impervious mixing pad.
3. Divide the powder into two equal halves and incorporate the first half into the liquid using a stainless steel spatula.
4. Mix thoroughly for 45 to 60 seconds until a smooth, putty-like uniform consistency is achieved.
5. Place the mixed material into the prepared cavity using a suitable placement instrument and condense gently.
6. Allow the material to self-cure undisturbed for 4 to 6 minutes from the start of mixing.
7. Trim excess material and perform final anatomical carving using appropriate instruments once fully set.
