Prepare and thoroughly irrigate the canal according to standard endodontic procedure.

Select the paper point size corresponding to the last master apical file used.

Gently insert the point into the root canal to the working length, using the depth markings as a guide.

Leave the point in place briefly to allow complete absorption of moisture or fluid.

Withdraw the point carefully and inspect for residual canal dampness.

Repeat the step using fresh points until the root canal remains entirely dry.
