Mani Sec-O K-Files feature a rounded tip that sets them apart from conventional K-Files, making canal preparation both safe and reliable. The specially designed tip glides along the outer wall of curved canals, ensuring safer operation whether used manually or mechanically.
The handle of O-Files has a diameter of 4 mm and is seamlessly attached to the file head in a single motion. It can withstand dry heat sterilization up to 200 °C without any discoloration or deformation, ensuring durability and consistent performance.
What distinguishes Mani Sec-O K-Files from standard K-Files is their “safe-ended” tip. In contrast, standard K-Files have an active, sharp tip formed by an acute transition between the tip and the fluting. This sharp tip increases the risk of ledging and canal transportation, particularly when navigating curved canals, as it tends to engage preferentially with the outer canal wall.
A safe-ended tip, however, features a rounded transition at the junction of the tip and fluting, reducing the likelihood of the file “digging into” the canal wall and initiating transportation. While it does not entirely eliminate the risk, it provides significant protection without compromising the K-File’s functionality.
SEC-O K-Files effectively minimize the risk of canal transportation while simplifying the endodontist’s armamentarium, all at a minimal additional cost per file.
