MANI Diamond Burs – Taper Conical End / TC Series are high-quality rotary dental instruments manufactured with a durable stainless-steel body coated with fine diamond particles. Designed for precision cutting, grinding and shaping of hard dental tissues, these burs provide excellent control and consistent performance during restorative and prosthodontic procedures.
The Taper Conical End (TC) design supports controlled tooth reduction, contouring and preparation while allowing clinicians to work accurately on different tooth surfaces. The diamond-coated working surface provides efficient abrasion of enamel and dentin and supports smooth, predictable material removal.
Compatible with suitable high-speed dental handpieces, MANI TC Series burs provide stable rotary performance and precise handling. They can also be used on compatible restorative materials such as porcelain, metals and plastics, depending on the specific bur and clinical application.
The TC Series is available in different configurations and grits, allowing clinicians to select the appropriate bur for preparation, shaping, contouring and finishing requirements.
TC-11 CA is intentionally excluded because it is a Contra-Angle bur. We will add it under the MANI Contra-Angle / CA section rather than this Airotor TC Series.
Preparation of the Work Area
Begin by ensuring that your workspace is clean, well-organized, and free of any unnecessary items. Gather all the required dental instruments, materials, and equipment before starting the procedure to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
Selecting the Appropriate Bur
Choose the Mani Diamond Bur that best suits your specific dental procedure. The selection should be based on the desired shape, size, and grit, as these factors directly influence the precision and effectiveness of the treatment.
Shank Insertion
Carefully insert the shank of the Mani Diamond Bur completely into the dental handpiece. A secure and stable connection is essential to ensure safety, accuracy, and smooth operation during the procedure.
Pre-Use Inspection
Before beginning any work, run the Mani Diamond Bur at a low speed to check for any signs of wobbling, imbalance, or decentering. If irregularities are detected, replace the bur immediately to maintain precision and avoid potential complications.
Patient Preparation
Ensure the patient is properly prepared and comfortable. Administer anesthesia if necessary and confirm that the patient is relaxed before starting the procedure to promote safety and efficiency.
Coolant and Lubrication
Always use a continuous coolant spray throughout the procedure to prevent overheating of both the bur and the treated area. Maintaining an adequate water supply helps reduce clogging, improve cutting performance, and minimize the risk of pulp irritation or damage.
Pressure and Speed Control
Apply consistent pressure—generally between 20 to 50 PSI, depending on the bur’s diameter. Operate the bur at or below the manufacturer’s recommended RPM to maintain cutting efficiency while preventing overheating and excessive wear.
Correct Operating Motion
Use steady, controlled movements during operation. Avoid abrupt or forceful motions such as levering, tilting, twisting, or jamming, as these can damage both the instrument and the tooth structure. Never use a pulling motion, since it can compromise the precision of the procedure.
Post-Use Sterilization
After completing the procedure, thoroughly clean and sterilize the Mani Diamond Bur. Proper sterilization ensures hygiene, prolongs the instrument’s lifespan, and maintains safety standards for future use.
