Maarc Bite Wafers are aluminium-filled bite registration wax sheets developed for accurate recording of a patient's occlusal relationship during prosthodontic procedures. The incorporated aluminium particles help distribute heat throughout the wax, producing uniform softening and allowing the material to adapt closely to tooth surfaces.

When warmed to approximately 55°C, the wax becomes highly pliable in less than a minute, making it convenient to position between the dental arches. Once the required bite has been recorded, the material can be stabilised by cooling with water or allowing it to return to room temperature.

Compared with conventional modelling wax, the material is formulated to provide greater toughness and dimensional stability. Minimal shrinkage following cooling helps preserve the recorded occlusal relationship and reduces the possibility of distortion during handling.

Maarc Bite Wafers are intended for prosthetic applications where a dependable record of the relationship between the upper and lower teeth is required. Each pack contains 10 wax sheets, approximately 160 × 90 mm in size.

1. Select an appropriately sized section of the bite registration wafer.
2. Warm the wax to approximately 55°C until it becomes uniformly soft and pliable.
3. Position the softened wafer between the patient's upper and lower dental arches.
4. Guide the patient into the required bite or jaw relationship.
5. Allow the patient to close gently without excessive movement while the occlusal impression is formed.
6. Stabilise the recorded wax by cooling it with water or allowing it to reach room temperature.
7. Carefully remove the bite record without bending or distorting it.
8. Examine the record for complete and clearly defined occlusal impressions before using it for the required prosthetic or laboratory procedure.
