Select the appropriate size and shape of Tofflemire matrix band suitable for the target cavity preparation.

Insert the ends of the matrix band into the retainer diagonal slot, ensuring the band loop extends in the desired quadrant direction.

Turn the inner nut to lock the band securely into the sliding guide clip of the retainer.

Position the matrix loop over the tooth and turn the outer knob to tighten the band firmly around the cervix.

Place interproximal wedges as necessary to establish tight proximal contact and eliminate gingival overhangs.

Perform the restorative filling procedure, then loosen the outer knob carefully to release tension and remove the retainer.
