Clean and autoclave all instruments according to standard sterilisation protocols prior to surgical use. Create the initial surgical incision through the mucoperiosteum to expose the underlying cortical bone. Place the thin, sharp end of the elevator under the edge of the incised tissue to initiate flap separation. Ease the broader, rounded end along the bone surface to lift the full-thickness mucoperiosteal flap cleanly. Retract and hold the flap carefully without applying excessive tearing force on soft tissues. Decontaminate and thoroughly clean the instruments immediately following the procedure to maintain tip condition.
