Clean and autoclave the instrument thoroughly prior to clinical application. Hold the forceps comfortably between the thumb and fingers using a pencil-style or thumb-grasp technique. Apply gentle pressure on the outer blades to engage the serrated tips on target tissue or suture materials. Stabilize flap edges carefully during suturing, flap mobilization, or soft tissue resection. Wash, decontaminate, and sterilize the forceps post-procedure in accordance with standard infection control standards.
