Prepare the surgical field and ensure adequate local anesthesia has been achieved.

Select the GDC Coupland Standard Elevator (EA2C) and verify instrument integrity prior to insertion.

Position the concave surface of the Coupland tip between the root face and the interdental alveolar bone.

Apply slow, controlled rotational leverage and wedging force to sever periodontal fibers and luxate the root.

Elevate the loosened root out of the socket before engaging extraction forceps if required.
