Clean and sterilize the instrument using standard dental autoclave protocols prior to the clinical procedure. Confirm adequate patient local anesthesia and prepare the operative field appropriately. Align the thin PTF3 flexible tip parallel to the tooth root along the gingival sulcus. Insert the working edge gently into the periodontal ligament space using controlled axial pressure. Circumferentially advance the blade around the root using mild circumferential movements to cut ligament attachment fibers. Avoid using the periotome as a heavy prying lever or elevation torque tool to prevent blade damage. Remove the tooth gently using extraction forceps once sufficient detachment is achieved.
