* Area-specific working ends curved to fit facial, lingual, and proximal surfaces of anterior teeth.
* Single effective cutting edge on each blade minimizes soft tissue trauma during subgingival instrumentation.
* Precise 70-degree offset blade angle ensures optimal working geometry without demanding wrist strain.
* High-grade surgical stainless steel construction resists corrosion and preserves edge sharpness over repeated cycles.
* Ergonomic #6 hollow handle improves tactical feel while reducing clinician hand fatigue.
* Extended terminal shank length facilitates access into deep periodontal sulci and narrow pockets.
* Fully autoclavable design supports complete infection control compliance in clinical environments.
The GDC Gracey Curette #6 (Sg1/2) is an area-specific periodontal hand instrument expertly crafted for subgingival scaling and root surface debridement on anterior teeth. Featuring a single-sided cutting blade set at a 70-degree offset, this curette allows clinicians to achieve precise root adaptation with minimal soft tissue disruption compared to universal curettes.
Constructed from surgical-grade stainless steel, this double-ended instrument features a lightweight #6 hollow handle that provides excellent tactile sensitivity and reduces hand strain during extensive periodontal therapy. The precise bend of the shank ensures easy navigation along the facial, lingual, and interproximal surfaces of incisors and canines.
Each unit is supplied as a single, fully autoclavable hand instrument built to endure standard clinical sterilisation protocols. Its durable construction maintains blade integrity over long-term usage, making it an essential component of any routine or specialized periodontics setup.

1. Examine anterior pocket depths and review radiographs before initiating subgingival debridement.
2. Select the Gracey #1/2 curette and establish a secure modified pen grasp with a firm fulcrum point.
3. Position the terminal shank parallel to the long axis of the target anterior tooth surface.
4. Insert the working blade into the sulcus with the blade face closed flat against the root surface.
5. Advance to the base of the pocket, then open the working blade to establish correct 70-degree root contact.
6. Perform controlled vertical, horizontal, or oblique pulling strokes with lateral pressure to remove subgingival calculus.
7. Follow calculus removal with light, overlapping root planing strokes to leave a smooth, hard root surface.
8. Clean debris from the tip periodically and sterilize the instrument via autoclaving after procedure completion
