The GDC Extraction Forceps Upper Roots - 951.00 Secure (Sfx951.00) is a specialised surgical instrument designed to assist dental professionals in the precise removal of maxillary root stumps. Engineered with a contra-angled beak configuration, this instrument provides superior accessibility to the posterior regions of the upper arch, ensuring that clinicians can comfortably approach difficult-to-reach root fragments or grossly decayed teeth without compromising adjacent tissues.
Constructed from robust, high-quality stainless steel, the instrument delivers excellent durability and corrosion resistance under the demanding conditions of daily clinical practice. The beaks are specifically shaped to securely engage the root structure, reducing the risk of slippage during the application of extraction forces. Additionally, the forceps feature an ergonomic, textured handle that enhances tactile sensitivity and grip, ultimately helping to minimise hand fatigue during intricate surgical procedures.
Designed with cross-infection control in mind, these extraction forceps are fully reusable and can be safely subjected to standard autoclaving cycles. This reliability and thoughtful engineering make the 951.00 Secure model a valuable addition to any dental clinic's surgical armamentarium, promoting streamlined workflows and elevated patient care during exodontia procedures.

Ensure the forceps are thoroughly cleaned, disinfected and appropriately sterilised prior to the clinical procedure.
Examine the maxillary root stump or decayed tooth clinically and administer the required local anaesthesia.
Advance the contra-angled beaks subgingivally and position them parallel to the long axis of the root fragment.
Establish a secure and firm grip on the root structure to prevent accidental slippage.
Apply controlled buccal, palatal or slight rotational pressure to gradually expand the alveolar socket.
Once the root fragment is adequately mobilised, use steady outward traction to deliver it from the socket.
Clean the instrument immediately after use and proceed with standard ultrasonic cleaning and autoclaving protocols.
