Administer local anesthesia and ensure complete soft tissue numbness in the upper left quadrant. Sever the epithelial attachment and periodontal ligament around the target tooth using a desmotome or elevator. Align the FX18S forceps tips along the long axis of the upper left molar, placing the pointed beak on the buccal side. Advance the beaks subgingivally onto the root surface to achieve a firm mechanical purchase. Execute controlled, slow palatal and buccal luxation movements to expand the alveolar socket.
