Tempron is a tooth-colored resin used for temporary crowns and bridges. It is applied to the prepared tooth areas by placing the material into the impression, which is then reseated in the patient’s mouth.

Indications:

• Fabrication of temporary crowns and bridges
• Creation of temporary dentures
• Maintenance of space in the dental arch

Composition :

• Powder -  Copolymer of Methylmethacrylate and Diethyl phthalate, Polymethylmethacrylate

A. Crowns

1. Preparation

• Fill any tooth defects with GC CAVITON or an equivalent temporary filling material.
• Take an impression using a heavy-body alginate. Wrap it in wet gauze to prevent distortion.
• Prepare the tooth for crowning.
• Cut V-shaped notches in the impression from the gingival to buccal and lingual sides to allow excess resin to escape.

2. Mixing

• Standard powder/liquid ratio: 1.0 g powder : 0.5 mL liquid (first graduation on powder measure and liquid pipette).
• Note: Use minimal liquid to reduce shrinkage.
• Pour the liquid into a mixing jar and gradually add powder. Mix for 20–30 seconds.

3. Application

• Fill the impression with the creamy paste and seat it firmly in the mouth.
• After 3 minutes, remove the impression, leaving the dough-like resin on the tooth.
• Remove the resin crown before full setting and dip in hot water (≈50°C) several times to prevent shrinkage.
• Trim excess material with a bur and polish.
• Cement the temporary crown using GC FREEGENOL or a suitable temporary cement.

B. Bridges

1. Preparation

• Select a suitable artificial tooth and secure it between abutment teeth with wax. Check the occlusion/bite.
• Take a full-arch impression with alginate. Carefully remove the pontic and wrap the impression in wet gauze.
• Prepare the abutment teeth.
• Follow the same procedures as described for crowns (A.1 to A.3) to complete the temporary bridge.
