GC Gold Label 9 Extra, also known as GC Fuji IX Extra, is a self-cured Type IX glass ionomer restorative designed for posterior and core build-up applications. Its packable, non-sticky consistency supports controlled placement, condensation and contouring with conventional restorative instruments.

The material incorporates SmartGlass filler technology to provide improved translucency, fluoride release and a faster setting reaction. It chemically adheres to enamel and dentine, is radiopaque and has a coefficient of thermal expansion similar to natural tooth structure.

Premeasured capsules eliminate manual powder-and-liquid dispensing and provide a consistent mix after mechanical activation. The fast-setting formulation allows final finishing approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds from the beginning of mixing.

This A2 pack contains 30 single-use capsules. Pack-of-30 variants are available in A2 and A3 shades, while other Gold Label 9 Extra presentations may be available separately. A compatible capsule mixer and GC Capsule Applier are required for use.

1. Prepare the cavity conservatively and isolate the operative field. Use an appropriate calcium hydroxide liner when pulpal protection is clinically required.
2. Apply GC Cavity Conditioner to the prepared enamel and dentine for 10 seconds.
3. Rinse thoroughly and gently remove excess water without desiccating the tooth surface.
4. Shake the capsule or tap its side on a firm surface to loosen the powder.
5. Press the capsule plunger completely into the body and hold it for 2 seconds to activate the internal components.
6. Immediately place the capsule in a compatible amalgamator and mix for 10 seconds at approximately 4,000 rpm.
7. Load the mixed capsule into a GC Capsule Applier, prime it and dispense the cement directly into the preparation without trapping air.
8. Adapt and contour the material within the approximately 1-minute 15-second working time.
9. Allow the cement to set and begin final finishing approximately 2 minutes 30 seconds from the start of mixing.
10. Finish under water spray and apply a suitable protective coating, such as G-COAT PLUS, according to its instructions.
