G-BOND is a self-etching, light-cured adhesive formulated specifically for dental professionals, providing reliable and consistent performance when used as recommended. It is ideal for bonding light-cured composites, acid-modified composites (compomers), and dual-cured luting or core build-up composites to tooth structures, as long as the materials are light-cured.

Use of G-BOND is contraindicated for direct pulp capping and in patients with known allergies to certain monomers or acetone. The adhesive should not be combined with chemically cured resins, eugenol-containing materials, or desensitizers to avoid interference with bonding efficacy.

Application is straightforward: shake the bottle, dispense the adhesive, and apply immediately to the prepared tooth surface using the disposable applicator. Light cure for 10–20 seconds depending on the light source. For dual-cured composites, follow the manufacturer’s instructions and ensure separate light curing. Complete the procedure using standard finishing techniques.

Cavity Preparation:

• Prepare the tooth using standard dental techniques.
• Use a rubber dam to protect the working area.
• Gently dry the prepared tooth surfaces with an air syringe.
• For direct pulp capping, apply calcium hydroxide.

Application:

• Shake the G-BOND bottle thoroughly before use.
• Dispense a few drops into a clean dispensing dish; replace the cap immediately.
• Apply G-BOND to prepared enamel and dentin using the Disposable Applicator II.
• Let the adhesive sit undisturbed for 5–10 seconds.
• Dry thoroughly with oil-free air for 5 seconds at maximum pressure; use vacuum suction to prevent splatter.

Additional Notes:

• After long-term refrigeration, allow the G-BOND bottle to reach room temperature before use.
• Non-cut enamel should be treated with 35–40% phosphoric acid gel, rinsed, and gently dried before applying G-BOND.
• Apply G-BOND immediately due to its volatile solvent content.
• Remove excess adhesive from non-bonded surfaces using a sponge or cotton pellet, as cured residue is difficult to remove.
• If contamination with water, blood, or saliva occurs before light curing, rinse, dry, and reapply.

Light Curing:

• Use a visible light curing unit for polymerization.
• Halogen/LED (700 mW/cm²): cure for 20 seconds (or 10 seconds if light guide >10 mm from surface).
• High-power LED (>1200 mW/cm²): cure for 10 seconds (or 5 seconds if light guide >10 mm away).
• Always use a protective light shield or eyewear during curing.

Placement of Composites:

• After adhesive curing, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to place, contour, and light cure the chosen composite resin.

Finishing and Polishing:

• Adjust the restoration and polish using standard finishing techniques.
