GC Exaclear is a transparent vinyl polysiloxane material developed for producing clear silicone matrices and accurate bite registrations. Its optical clarity provides direct visual control during restorative procedures and permits light transmission through the matrix when used with a compatible light-cured composite.

The material is particularly useful for composite injection moulding, where a diagnostic wax-up is transferred to the patient using an injectable restorative material. It may also be used for silicone indices required during temporary crown-and-bridge fabrication and other procedures where visibility through the matrix is beneficial.

GC Exaclear is available in a single transparent formulation. Each pack contains two 48 mL automix cartridges and six green Mixing Tips II L, providing consistent proportioning and convenient direct dispensing.

1. Complete the diagnostic wax-up or intraoral mock-up representing the intended restorative contours.
2. Select a rigid impression tray that provides approximately 3–6 mm of material thickness around the wax-up.
3. Insert the cartridge into a compatible automix dispenser, remove the cap and confirm an even flow from both openings.
4. Attach a Mixing Tip II L and dispense GC Exaclear into the tray while keeping the tip immersed to minimise air entrapment.
5. Seat the loaded tray over the wax-up or prepared area within the 45-second working time.
6. Allow the material to set for at least 2 minutes intraorally or approximately 7 minutes when used on a model.
7. Remove the matrix carefully, inspect it for complete detail reproduction and trim excess material.
8. For composite injection procedures, create appropriate injection and vent openings without damaging the internal surface.
9. Isolate and prepare the teeth according to the selected adhesive and restorative material instructions, then reseat the clear matrix.
10. Inject the compatible composite through the access openings, light-cure through the transparent matrix and finish the restoration after matrix removal.
