GC Exabite II NDS is an addition-reaction vinyl polysiloxane developed specifically for recording occlusal relationships. Its cream-like consistency flows readily during closure and offers minimal resistance, allowing the patient to reach the selected jaw position without unnecessary mandibular displacement.

The material remains stable after placement because of its thixotropic properties, yet spreads under occlusal pressure to capture the required tooth relationship. A working time of up to 45 seconds is followed by a rapid 45-second intraoral set, supporting an efficient bite-registration procedure.

Once polymerised, Exabite II NDS reaches a hardness of 87 Shore A. This rigid, dimensionally stable result can resist deformation during model articulation while remaining easy to trim or carve where adjustment is necessary.

This set contains two automix cartridges, each labelled approximately 48–50 ml depending on the regional packaging. Exabite II NDS is also available in larger multi-cartridge packs for clinics and laboratories with higher consumption.

1. Ensure the occlusal surfaces are clean and remove excessive saliva without overdrying the teeth.
2. Retract the piston of a compatible GC Cartridge Dispenser II and insert the Exabite II NDS cartridge with its V-shaped notch correctly aligned.
3. Remove the cartridge cap by turning it approximately one-quarter turn anticlockwise.
4. Express a small amount of material from both cartridge openings and confirm that the base and catalyst flow evenly.
5. Attach a new compatible mixing tip and rotate its collar clockwise to secure it.
6. Extrude the mixed material directly onto the required occlusal surfaces. Complete placement within the available 45-second working time.
7. Guide the patient gently into the intended centric or clinically selected jaw relationship without lateral deviation.
8. Ask the patient to maintain the recorded position steadily for at least 45 seconds while the material sets.
9. Remove the registration carefully and inspect it for complete tooth contact, perforations, movement or voids.
10. Trim excess material with a suitable blade, bur or carving instrument before using the registration for model articulation.
