DPI GingiDam Lightcure Gingival Protective Material is a professional resin barrier specifically engineered to protect soft tissues during aggressive chemical dental therapies. Designed primarily for in-office tooth whitening, microabrasion, and localized acid etching procedures, it forms a dense, impenetrable boundary that isolates the gingival margin and interdental papillae from caustic bleaching agents such as concentrated hydrogen peroxide.

The material exhibits controlled thixotropic viscosity, allowing smooth expression and precise placement directly onto mucosal borders without slumping into unwanted areas. Upon exposure to standard blue light, GingiDam rapidly cures into a flexible yet tough protective barrier. 1. Clean and dry the targeted gingival tissue and adjacent teeth thoroughly.
2. Place a lip retractor and cotton rolls to secure proper isolation and moisture control.
3. Attach the provided dispensing tip securely to the DPI GingiDam syringe barrel.
4. Express a continuous 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm thick layer along the gingival margin, covering 2–3 mm of attached mucosa and interdental papillae.
5. Light cure the applied barrier segment-by-segment using a standard dental curing light for 10 to 20 seconds per region.
6. Verify complete polymerization and tactile firmness of the barrier before applying whitening gels or etchants.
7. Perform the scheduled bleaching or operative chemical procedure according to protocol.
8. Upon procedure completion, rinse away chemical agents and gently lift one edge of the cured resin to peel off the intact barrier.
