Cleaning and Preparation:
- Clean the denture thoroughly using a brush and detergent solution.
- Disinfect according to the manufacturer’s or dental laboratory’s instructions.
- Relieve pressure areas and undercuts by grinding.
- Rinse and dry the denture surface completely.
Application of Separator:
- Apply the provided brush-cap Separator only to areas where bonding is not desired, such as external denture base and denture tooth surfaces.
- Do not apply the brush to contaminated or non-disinfected denture surfaces.
Mixing the Visco-Gel Temporary Soft Denture Liner:
- Use the indicated measure to obtain the correct powder-to-liquid ratio.
- Lightly tap the powder before measuring.
- Recommended ratio: 1 measure powder (3 g) : 1 measure liquid (2 ml).
- Dispense one measure of powder into the mixing vessel.
- Add one measure of liquid and mix for 30 seconds at room temperature.
Application of Visco-Gel Temporary Soft Denture Liner:
- Cover the tissue-contacting surface of the denture with the mixture.
- Moisten fingers to handle the tacky mixture if needed.
- Insert the denture into the mouth approximately 2–3 minutes from the start of mixing.
- Remove excess material from areas such as retromolar spaces.
- Instruct the patient to close gently in normal occlusion and remain at rest for at least 2 minutes.
- Have the patient read aloud or perform functional movements/border molding for ~2 minutes.
- Remove the denture approximately 7–8 minutes from the start of mixing.
- Check coverage, especially in border areas, and trim excess material with a sharp instrument.
Maintenance and Follow-Up:
- Recall the patient after a few days to evaluate the Visco-Gel liner.
- Add new mix to deficient areas if necessary and continue treatment until tissues return to normal.
- After tissue conditioning, proceed to functional impression-taking, soft lining, or standard rebasing/remaking techniques.
Maintenance of Visco-Gel Treated Dentures:
- After 1 day in the mouth, clean dentures by gentle brushing with a soft-bristled brush and clear water.
- Do not use chemical cleansers or immerse the denture in cleaning solutions.
