Dentsply AutoMatrix Refills are high-quality replacement bands designed for use with the Dentsply AutoMatrix sectional matrix system. These refills ensure precise and consistent adaptation around the tooth structure, facilitating optimal contouring and contact during restorative dental procedures. Made from durable, biocompatible materials, they provide reliable performance, excellent elasticity, and easy handling, helping dentists achieve smooth, well-finished restorations with minimal chair time.

Preparing the Matrix:

• Ensure the matrix is slightly larger than the tooth’s occlusal circumference for proper fit.
• To enlarge the matrix, gently unroll the coil with your finger.
• Slide the AUTO-LOCK against the coil using your finger.

Positioning the Matrix:

• Place the matrix with the AUTO-LOCK LOOP centered on the buccal or lingual side of the remaining tooth structure.

Tightening the Matrix:

• Insert the tip of the AUTOMATE III tightening device into the coil (do not force).
• Stabilize the matrix at the gingival margin with your finger while tightening.
• Rotate the knurled handle clockwise. Stop after 2–3 clicks—the band will be subgingivally tightened.

Removing the Tightening Device:

• Rotate the AUTOMATE III device counterclockwise while simultaneously withdrawing it from the coil.

Restoring the Tooth:

• Place anatomical wedges as needed (buccal and/or lingual).
• Burnish contact areas if necessary.
• Complete the restoration procedure.

Removing the Matrix:

• Use shielded SNIPPERS to clip any projecting end of the AUTO-LOCK LOOP. Keep SNIPPERS closed during withdrawal.
• Insert a probe through the LOCK-RELEASE HOLE near the coil.
• Gently pull the LOCK-RELEASE HOLE occlusally until the matrix opens.
• Slide the matrix buccally or lingually and remove it occlusally.
