Aquasil Ultra Smart Wetting Impression Material is a quadrafunctional, hydrophilic addition-reaction silicone elastomer designed for dental impressions. It provides excellent hydrophilicity, superior dimensional accuracy, high tear strength, and strong resistance to permanent deformation.

- Working & Setting Times:

Aquasil Ultra regular-set offers a working time of 2 minutes 30 seconds and a setting time of 5 minutes from the start of mixing.

Contraindications

- Cartridge Preparation

• Insert the cartridge into the dispensing gun.
• Bleed the cartridge before attaching a new mixing tip.

- Single-Phase Impression Technique

• Ensure hemostasis and clean the area with an air–water spray.
• Backfill the impression syringe or attach an intraoral tip to the mixing tip.
• Dispense material into the impression tray, avoiding overfilling.
• While loading the tray, syringe material completely around the preparation or abutment.
• For regular-set wash and tray materials, insert the loaded tray within 1 minute 10 seconds from the start of intraoral syringing.
• Minimum removal time: 5 minutes from the start of mixing (regular set).
• If using regular-set wash with fast-set tray material, the minimum removal time is 4 minutes from the start of mixing.

- Dual-Phase Two-Step (“Putty-Wash”) Technique

• Make the primary impression using Aquasil Ultra Xtra Tray, Aquasil Putty, or Reprosil Tray material.
• Place one or more polyethylene sheets over the impression to create uniform wash space and protect the surface.
• Insert the filled tray into the mouth and move it gently side-to-side and front-to-back to establish wash space.
• Remove the tray once the material reaches a rubbery consistency; allow it to fully set without disturbance.
• Remove the polyethylene sheet, rinse the impression with water, and air-dry it.
• While loading the tray for the second step, syringe wash material completely around the preparation or abutment.
• Insert the loaded tray back into the mouth for the final impression.
