D-Tech Lute Glass GIC is a conventional, self-curing glass ionomer luting material formulated specifically for indirect prosthetic fixation. Utilizing a reaction between calcium fluoro-aluminosilicate glass powder and polycarboxylic acid, this luting cement creates a strong chemical bond directly to dentin, enamel, and metal substrates without requiring separate etching or bonding agents. Its thixotropic fluid dynamics allow the material to flow freely under pressure, providing an ultra-thin film thickness that ensures accurate seatings for crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and orthodontic bands. Beyond its primary function as a luting agent, D-Tech Lute Glass offers excellent protective properties for underlying vital pulp tissue. It releases fluoride consistently over time to help protect cavity margins against secondary caries. Additionally, its low coefficient of thermal expansion closely matches tooth structure, reducing marginal leakage and post-operative thermal sensitivity. Clean and dry the prepared tooth surfaces thoroughly without desiccating the dentin. Dispense the recommended powder scoop and liquid drop ratio onto the clean mixing pad. Rapidly mix the powder into the liquid using a plastic spatula until a homogenous paste forms within 45 seconds. Apply a uniform layer of mixed cement to the internal surface of the restoration and the prepared tooth. Seat the prosthesis within 30 seconds of completing the mix and maintain firm pressure. Trim away excess cement during its gel phase using an appropriate instrument. Protect the exposed cement margins with a varnish or sealant after the final set.
