Isolate the operational site effectively using a rubber dam or cotton rolls.

Clean and dry the surface of the prepared tooth thoroughly.

Dispense the required quantity of etching gel from the dropper bottle onto a clean mixing pad or dappen dish.

Apply the gel to enamel and dentin using a micro-applicator brush.

Allow the etchant to act for 15 to 20 seconds on enamel and 10 to 15 seconds on dentin.

Thoroughly rinse the tooth surface with air-water spray for at least 15 seconds to remove all traces of etchant.

Gently air-dry the area without desiccating the dentin before applying the bonding adhesive.
