Coltene Vitality Control Endo-Frost is a chairside cold spray for indirect thermal pulp testing. The aerosol is used to chill a small cotton roll or foam pellet outside the mouth; the cooled applicator is then placed on the tooth so the clinician can assess and compare the patient's sensory response.
Endo-Frost reaches approximately -50°C and is supplied in a 200 ml can. It must not be sprayed directly intraorally. Pulp vitality interpretation should never rely on a single cold response alone; combine the result with clinical examination, control teeth and any other diagnostic tests considered appropriate.
