Clean and dry the prepared cavity or abutment tooth prior to placement. Dispense the required proportion of zinc oxide powder and eugenol liquid onto a clean glass slab or mixing pad. Incorporate the powder into the liquid incrementally using a cement spatula until a smooth, homogeneous paste is obtained. Apply the mixed cement into the cavity preparation or onto the inner surface of the provisional crown. Seat the provisional restoration or adapt the material within the cavity before setting begins. Allow the material to set completely for 3 to 4 minutes. Carefully trim and remove any excess material around the margins using an explorer or scaler.
