Ammdent Pit & Fissure Sealant is a light-activated preventive resin matrix engineered to shield vulnerable tooth morphology from dental caries. By penetrating into deep occlusal grooves, developmental fissures, and enamel anatomical defects, it forms a protective mechanical barrier that cuts off microleakage and dietary substrate buildup. Its flowable consistency ensures complete adaptation to narrow fissures, providing long-lasting retention and mechanical stability. Designed for clinical efficiency, this sealant is suitable for pediatric patients with newly erupted permanent molars as well as adult patients presenting with high caries risk or retentive occlusal anatomy. Clean the target occlusal surface thoroughly using non-fluoridated pumice paste or air polishing, then rinse clean. Isolate the tooth using a rubber dam or cotton rolls to prevent moisture contamination. Apply a 37% phosphoric acid etching gel to the target pits and fissures for 15–20 seconds. Thoroughly wash the etchant off with water spray and dry the enamel surface until it displays a uniform chalky-white appearance. Dispense and flow a thin layer of Ammdent Pit & Fissure Sealant across the anatomical grooves using an applicator brush or tip, avoiding air entrapment. Light-cure the sealant for 20 to 40 seconds based on light output. Evaluate the sealed surface with an explorer for complete coverage and verify occlusion using articulating paper.
