* Advanced nanotechnology provides superior fracture toughness and high resistance to structural breakage during mastication.
* Eliminates complex polishing procedures, reaching a natural lustrous shine simply by wiping the surface with ethanol.
* Significantly reduced smear inhibition layer allows quicker handling and easier provisional finishing.
* Formulated with natural fluorescent pigments to seamlessly blend with adjacent dentition across various light settings.
* Smooth surface finish discourages plaque accumulation, facilitating routine oral hygiene and supporting gingival tissue health.
* Highly color-stable formulation minimizes staining from common dietary fluids like tea or coffee.
* Low exothermic polymerization ensures patient comfort and protects pulpal vitality during intraoral setting.
* Precise marginal adaptation and minimal polymerization shrinkage yield an accurate clinical fit.
3M ESPE Protemp 4 Temporisation Material represents a major technological advancement in provisional prosthodontics. Engineered with advanced bis-acrylic chemistry and incorporated nanofillers, it delivers unmatched mechanical strength and fracture resistance. This makes it ideal for single unit provisional crowns, extensive multi-unit temporary bridges, inlays, onlays, and aesthetic temporary veneers, including long-term temporary restorations.
The material features a simplified handling protocol that significantly streamlines clinical chair time. Thanks to its specialized filler technology, the surface of the provisional can be brought to a natural, smooth shine simply by wiping off the inhibition layer with ethanol. This process removes the need for tedious manual polishing or glaze application while creating a smooth surface that helps prevent plaque build-up and maintains healthy gingival margins.
In addition to superior strength and handling, Protemp 4 provides excellent aesthetic results. Its natural fluorescence and shade stability resist staining, ensuring the temporary restoration retains its realistic appearance throughout the treatment period. Available in standard shades such as A1, A2, A3, and Bleach, each 50 ml cartridge refill pack includes 16 blue automix tips designed for consistent, bubble-free dispensing.
* Material Composition: Bis-acrylic composite formulated with nanofillers
* Delivery Mechanism: 10:1 ratio automix cartridge system
* Curing Behavior: Self-curing with low exothermic heat release during polymerization
* Fluorescence: Natural tooth-like fluorescence under varying illumination
* Surface Finish: High-gloss texture achieved by wiping with alcohol, requiring no polishing
* Working Time: Approximate total set completion within 5 minutes from mix initiation
* Clinical Indications: Fabrication of temporary crowns, multi-unit bridges, inlays, onlays, and veneers
1 Pack Contains:
* 1 × 50 ml Cartridge
* 16 × Garant Mixing Tips (Blue)
1. Prepare the impression matrix or clear vacuum-formed template prior to tooth preparation.
2. Load the 50 ml cartridge into a compatible 10:1 Garant dispenser gun and attach a fresh blue Garant mixing tip.
3. Bleed a small amount of material onto a mixing pad to ensure even base and catalyst flow before dispensing into the matrix.
4. Express the material directly into the impression, keeping the tip submerged to prevent air bubble entrapment.
5. Place the filled matrix into the mouth over the prepared teeth within the initial working phase.
6. Remove the provisional restoration from the mouth during its elastic phase before complete setting occurs.
7. Wipe the outer surface thoroughly with ethanol to remove the inhibition layer and reveal a glossy finish, then trim excess margins and cement.
