Directions for Use – 3M™ ESPE™ Astringent Retraction Paste

1. Prepare the Area
2. Clean the tooth and surrounding gingival tissue. Rinse thoroughly and gently air-dry to remove saliva and debris.
3. Place the Capsule
4. Load the 3M™ ESPE™ Astringent Retraction Paste capsule into a compatible applicator. Ensure the extra-fine tip is securely attached.
5. Apply the Paste
6. Carefully insert the tip into the gingival sulcus. Slowly dispense the paste while moving the tip circumferentially around the tooth to ensure even placement.
7. Allow Working Time
8. Leave the paste in place for approximately 1–2 minutes to achieve effective gingival retraction and hemostasis.
9. Rinse and Dry
10. Thoroughly rinse away the paste using water spray. Gently air-dry the area to confirm a clean, dry sulcus.
11. Proceed with the Procedure
12. Once adequate retraction and bleeding control are achieved, continue with impression taking, restorative placement, or cementation as planned.
13. Single-Use Disposal
14. Discard the capsule after use according to clinical waste guidelines to maintain proper hygiene and prevent cross-contamination.
